Brain Week In UNAM´s faculties, schools, institutes, and departments

With the purpose of spreading knowledge about the care and functioning of the brain, as well as the importance of studying and understanding this organ, UNAM, through various faculties, schools, institutes, and departments, organizes Brain Week. This is an international initiative driven by the Society for Neuroscience and the Dana Foundation, which brings together associations and institutions from around the world to celebrate the brain.

The campaign focuses on promoting enthusiasm and support for research on the nervous system by sharing information and knowledge with the general public about the significant impact the brain has on our daily lives. The UNAM entities participating in this major campaign include the Faculties of Science, Medicine, Psychology, ENES-Juriquilla, the FES Iztacala and Zaragoza, and the Institutes of Neurobiology (INb), Cellular Physiology (IFC), and Biomedical Research (IIBm), as well as the Universum Museum.

During this event, conferences, workshops, plays, visits, contests, and recreational activities take place, such as the Neuropiñatas contest, which aims to encourage creativity, teamwork, and scientific communication, particularly around the study of the brain.
